Let's Keep Our Beloved Ones Home.
Nome is the pivot around which the communications of the area, the travel and the economy of the area flows.
It is also the center of a very unique economic situation which must be overcome at any cost if this part of the State is to have a balanced development.
The youth are channeled off to schools when they are very young and many ties are lost or they are shipped away for relocation.
The aged are bundled up and shipped away from their families when they become helpless never to see their families or life long friends again.
Without the young and without the old, Northwestern Alaska has an unnatural situation which is not good for healthy development.
Northwestern Alaska must work hard for the Vocational School which was approved wholeheartedly in the last election by the voters, so that the youth of today will be here to do the work of tomorrow. At the same time the old people must not be forgotten and agitation and study must be made for an adequate nursing facility for the aged in the area.
