John Malinak, Mickey Dolson, Delmer Snider and Craig Redfern are leaving today for Bozeman to represent the local FFA chapter at the State Convention. Instructor Steve Urs will accompany them.
Approximately 300 future farmers representing 2,000 future farmers members in 64 chapters throughout the state will attend the convention. The business of the Delegate Sessions will be to organize State and Local Future Farmer Programs Of Work that will be geared to the "Food for Victory Program" and the "Total War Effort". This will include discussions of: Victory Gardens, preservation of foods, increased production of pork, poultry and dairy products, purchase of stamps and bonds, farm machinery problems, conservation of needed metals, paper and rubber, safety of life and property, health and citizenship; ways and means of cooperating with the Civilian Defense Committees, Agriculture War Boards and other agencies engaged in war efforts, will be features of the deliberation of the group.
The various railroads in the state made this trip possible through the refunding of four railroad fares to all FFA chapters that send three or more boys to Bozeman.
