In an enthusiastic mass meeting held in the city library this morning, Mr. M. C. Pettie and Mr. A. W. Parke of Little Rock, explained the purpose of the Arkansas Advancement Association, and the meeting decided to enter heartily Conway county into the Association.
They propose to accept their part of the quota and do anything else necessary to show up the country and the state in a better light.
The Association proposes to label every fellow who has been to Arkansas wear a button with these words on it: "I have been to Arkansas and I like it." Let the people of the state wear a button with these words on it, "I am proud of Arkansas." Then if asked why, tell them. There will be a catechism for the children to study about the state and a card with twenty reasons why "I am proud of Arkansas." printed on it.
It proposes to dismiss the school of scandal and tell of the wonderful resources of the state.
