BURGLARS ATTEMPT ENTRANCE BY ROOF

Jacob Hochheizer of Huntington Road, Awakened as Intruders Walk Above Him.

Awakened out of his sleep last night at 11:55 by the sounds of footsteps upon the roof of his house, Jacob Hochheizer was apprised of burglars who were in the act of entering his home by the scuttle on the roof. Thoroughly alarmed he hollered and scared the men away. He then telephoned to the police and Patrolman McGovern and Sergeant Coley were sent to investigate.

Arriving there they found that the would-be burglars had placed a ladder against the side of the house and had in this manner gained access to the roof. They had opened the scuttle and were about to enter when Hochheizer was aroused. The intruders left no clue and made good their escape.
