Full Text

New England Jubilee.

Some of the eastern papers are talking about a New England Jubilee to be held on Bunker Hill, sometime in 1850. Such a gathering would cluster around itself and shoot forth moral influence all over the land that could not be otherwise than healthful and promotive of good. But Bunker Hill, sacred as is its memory to every New Englander, would be seen to be, when sons and daughters of the Pilgrims come pouring from every city and town and prairie in the great west, from the Alleghanies to the Pacific Ocean, to say nothing of the myriads in every nook and corner of the Southern and Middle States, altogether too contracted a place for such a multitude. Old Boston Common would not be large enough to accommodate such a mighty mass.
