JURY CALL WAS FIRST IN YEARS

When the Burleigh county grand jury convenes here October 3, it will be the first in four or five years, court officials said today.

The session was called recently to inquire into matters not disclosed, following the presentation of a petition to Judge Fred Jansonius of the Fourth Judicial district.

Not in five years has there been an occasion for a grand jury session, it was pointed out, as there have not been any cases disclosed that could not be handled and presented though the regular court channels.

It is indicated that the case or cases scheduled for the called session concern matters which have been investigated by the proper authorities but for the lack of additional evidence they were not able to build up a case for prosecution.

A grand jury investigation, it is said, will get to the bottom of such a case, or cases.
