Youth Plays Part
In Stock Show

CHICAGO, Oct. 25—Boys and girls from the continent's farmlands play a big part in the events of the International Live Stock Exposition.

Jess C. Andrew, president of the International, from West Point, Ind., expects the coming show November 25 through December 2 in the Chicago Stock Yards to bring the usual high recognition of the accomplishments of youngsters in agriculture.

While touring English stock shows the past summer, he met and talked with King George who was interested in the work of youngsters in livestock in the United States. Andrew said he was proud to tell about last year's grand champion steer which was shown by the Pecos county, Texas, 4-H Club.

Youngsters Make Scholarships
The sale of the grand champion brought the club a total of $13,800 which, divided among the 40 youngsters, made a nice scholarship for each. Junior sales total nearly half a million dollars at each International.

The Junior Livestock Feeding Contest in which boys and girls show baby beeves, lambs and barrows of their own raising is among the curtain-raisers of the show on Saturday, November 25.

Youngsters have shown the International grand champion steer 14 times since they were permitted to show in the open classes in 1928. Similarly they have shown grand champion barrows and lambs in competition with adult livestock raisers.

4-H Club Congress Planned
But many more activities for boys and girls bring them into the limelight during International week. The 29th National 4-H Club Congress will be held downtown, bringing delegates from most of the states, Canadian provinces and a number of foreign countries the very cream of farm youngsters who win their trips to
