GEORGE CUSHING BUYS BUILDING SITE FOR LAUNDRY: ACQUIRES QUINN PROPERTY ON HUDGIN ST.

Nogales is to have another new building.

It was learned yesterday by the Nogales International that George A. Cushing, owner of the Nogales Steam Laundry, will erect a building on Hudgin street to be occupied as quarters for his laundry. Construction work to begin in the near future.

The property on which the new building will be erected is known as the old Bryan Quinn place located just back of the Dodge and Ford garages.

Mr. Cushing purchased his building site yesterday morning at the public auction of the property held by State Inheritance Tax Collector Neri Osborn, Jr., of Phoenix. The new owner paid $2,100 cash after there had been quite a little bidding by himself, Mrs. Con O'Keefe and others. The property is 100x100 feet in dimensions, and there is a small house on the grounds. The W. L. Hunter home, formerly on the premises, was destroyed by fire some time ago.

The premises acquired by Mr. Cushing became the property of the state following the death of Bryan Quinn in 1913 after it was found that Quinn had left no heirs.

The present home of the Nogales Steam Laundry is on East street.

Mr. Cushing's new laundry building will be one of the most up to date structures of its kind in southern Arizona and the site he has acquired is one of the best in the city for a laundry. It is located just across the street from the east end of the new federal building and postoffice.
