-Tom Huston was a St. Joseph visitor, Monday.

-Willie Hopper has purchased a new Elgin King.

-Miss Ollie Williams was visiting in Napier last week.

-R. M. Keck has sold his restaurant to Fred Rhetts.

-Miss Marie Howard was a Mound City passenger, Thursday.

-John West will go to work soon for Mr. Windle in the elevator.

-J. W. Hill and wife were St. Joseph passengers, Sunday afternoon.

-Fred Windle, of St. Joseph, spent Sunday with his brother in Fortescue.

-Pres. Dougherty was a Forest City passenger, last Saturday morning.

-Miss Luda Stuart went to St. Joseph, Friday, for a visit with relatives.

-Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Slater were St. Joseph passengers, Tuesday morning.

-Ed and Willie Cotton unloaded a car of sand for the Arkansas Lumber Co., this week.

-Mrs. Willie Wilson and Mrs. Chas. Stewart were St. Joseph passengers, Tuesday morning.

-Mrs. E. L. Craig, of Napier, who has been seriously ill with appendicitis, is reported much better.

-Mrs. Mary Ford, of Bigelow, who has been visiting with her daughter, Mrs. Ed Hinkle, returned to Bigelow, Friday evening.

-Harry Stanley, the janitor at the school house, is giving the school building a thorough cleaning up, preparatory for school next Monday morning.

-Mrs. R. C. Brownlee, who has been visiting with friends here for the last few days, went to Forest City, Thursday evening, to visit with Dr. Babcock's.

-Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Poynter went to Topeka, Kansas, Saturday evening for a few days' visit with Mrs. Poynter's mother. Miss Marie Howard accompanied them.

-Mr. Meyer, the assessor, was in Fortescue, Tuesday. All property this year is being assessed at full cash value. This will make it necessary to cut the levy next year.

-The following were St. Joseph passengers, last Saturday morning: Ira Vield and family, Pearl and Bertha Ramsey, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Morris, Willie Hinkle and Edgar Whipple.

-Wonder how many pupils will be in school next Monday morning with "necessary books?" Any one who desires to get their books before school begins can get a list of the books required from the clerk of the school board.

-J. L. Batson and family, accompanied by Miss Helen Huston, are spending their vacation in Minnesota, making the trip in Mr. Batson's car. They are taking a tent and cooking utensils with them, and will camp out on the trip.

-Don't forget the Parent-Teachers' meeting, at 8 p. m., Friday. You will enjoy the program. Principal W. T. Butler and Prof. Glenn O. Young will both be present and make us a talk on school matters, also Mrs. Murphy has promised to be present and will make us a good talk.

-Rev. Karl Davis preached his farewell sermon in the high school auditorium, last Sunday evening. The school house was voted open at last school election, and we would be glad to see services held there regularly each month if possible. There are a number in town, both parents and children, who cannot attend services at the Chapel, who could arrange to attend services in the school house.
