Full Text

The Democrat of last week appeared as usual - with a vast amount of space taken up in commenting on Mr. Bennett, our chief, who is now absent from home. Considerable was said about the "ass and his ears," which implies that the TRIBUNE editor disguised himself by communication. For once, "Geo. Crawford," you made a mistake. We saw the manuscript, and set the type, and can stake our reputation in saying, that Mr. Bennett is not guilty of the charge, and never was, which all readers of this paper will readily admit. "Give the d--l his due."
