Full Text

Boy Stabbed.

About ten o'clock this morning a wagon, driven by a negro man and boy, stopped in front of Mr. Watkins gate, on Rayburn avenue, and the boy sprang down and accosted young Watkins, asking him if he was not the boy who had interfered with him while about to whip a fellow a few days ago. Watkins replied he was not and shoved the darky off, who, saying "You are a liar, and I'm going to cut you," drew a barlow knife and stabbed Watkins in the side, immediately springing upon the wagon and driving out of sight. A warrant has been sworn out against the bloodthirsty young negro, whose name has been ascertained to be Dollie Ross. At this writing Watkins' wound is giving him much pain, though it is not considered dangerous. The affair was entirely unwarrantable.
