Philanthropists Incorporate for Many and Worthy Objects.
Articles of incorporation of the Missionary Society of St. Paul the Apostle, in the State of California, were filed with the County Clerk recently. There is no capital stock. The directors for the first year are as follows: Henry H. Wyman, Arthur M. Clark, S. B. Hedges, M. Otis and Francis B. Doherty.
The announced purposes of the new organization are stated thus:
"That the purposes for which it is formed are the religious instruction of the people, especially of poor and neglected persons, taking care temporarily of small congregations not able to support a clergyman, to give missions in cities and villages, to impart a moral education to poor and orphan children, and to found and maintain schools, asylums, hospitals, parsonages and cemeteries, as it may deem proper."
