MINNESOTA VETERANS.

Annual Encampment of the G. A. R. Opens at Minneapolis.

MINNEAPOLIS, March 1.-The annual encampment of the Minnesota G. A. R. and the meetings of the allied bodies are in session at Minneapolis. The encampment sessions are held at Century hall.

Mayor James Gray welcomed the delegates, and Department Commander Searle responded.

The encampment then opened in regular form.

The contest for department commander lies between J. F. R. Foss of the naval veterans and Gideon S. Ives, former lieutenant governor.
