M. E. CHURCH IS ENDING YEAR
Congregation Hoping for Return of Rev. Claude Moser Next Year
The board of stewards of the First M. E. church will be entertained at supper tonight at the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Garren on the Flat Rock road. This is an annual event near the close of the conference year, and a full attendance of the board is anticipated. Mrs. Garren will be assisted by Mrs. Tom Shepherd and Mrs. N. W. Miller.

Following the supper, the board will hear reports on the financial condition of the church by M. D. Coburn, treasurer, and H. B. Kelly, chairman of the finance committee, and on general activities by the pastor, the Rev. Claude H. Moser, who is conducting the second year of his pastorate here. L. R. Geiger, chairman of the board, will preside at the business session.

The last quarterly conference of the year will be conducted Wednesday night at the church by the Rev. D. M. Litaker, presiding elder, who will not be returned to the Asheville district since he will have served four years as head of the district organization.

Officials of the local church said they fully expected the Rev. Mr. Moser to be assigned to this pastorate for the third year and that the congregation "will be disappointed beyond measure" if Bishop Mouzon decides to move him.

The annual conference will be held in Charlotte, beginning Wednesday, November 15.

A number of persons from Henderson county are expected to attend the conference. Delegates of the Asheville district who will attend are J. C. Sales, Fletcher; H. L. Capps, Saluda; Guy English, Marshall; Mrs. O. H. Orr, Brevard; H. A. Dunham, Asheville; C. E. Morgan, Asheville; C. H. Trowbridge, Weaverville; George Evans, Candler; Zeb Curtis, Weaverville; H. C. Johnson, Asheville; A. C. Reynolds, Biltmore; Felmet, Asheville; R. L. Worley, Black Mountain; S. M. Coburn, Hendersonville; and Miss Hackney, Asheville. Pastors of 27 charges in the Asheville district will also attend.
