WOMEN BEAT MEN IN SUNDAY SCHOOL BALL GAME

Women may be called the fairer sex but certainly not the weaker sex any longer.

They proved it at the Sunday school union picnic given Friday at Wicker park in a six inning baseball game against the men.

Victorious with a score of 13 to 11, the women's team had a man pitcher. The men's team was solid behind a woman pitcher.

Uzella Watson, James Richmond and Ulysses Henderson scored home runs.

On the women's team were Harriet Ferguson, third base; Uzella Watson, catcher; Ruth Gray, first base; Mrs. U. S. Robinson, second base; Frankie Woods, short stop; Floretta Palmer and E. Jones right field; R. Kelly and Edia B. Hudson, center field, and Janet Phillips, left field.

Members of the opposing team were Rev. Shultz, catcher; Mrs. Given, lady pitcher; the Rev. U. S. Robinson, first baseman; H. A. Hanyard, second; James Richmond, shortstop; Ulysses Henderson, third base; Kelsey Heard, Mr. Moore, right field; Jesse Armstrong, center, and Mr. Harris, left field.
