NEW YORK CITY. - (ANP) A Manhattan detective agency has agreed to cease reporting the race and religion of persons seeking accommodations in New York hotels following a complaint to the New York State Commission Against Discrimination by the Jewish Congress, it was reported Wednesday.
Under the terms of an order signed by SCAD Chairman Charles Abrams, the Edris Service Corporation said it would no longer make inquiries or provide information "regarding the race, creed, color or national origin of persons seeking accommodation at places of public accommodation, resorts or amusement."
