It is said that representatives of the Pittsburg, Virginia & Charleston railroad are negotiating for the right of way through the farms on the Fayette county side of the river above Rice's Landing. It is pretty certain that the road will cross the river at or near Millsboro instead of at the "Narrows" above Lock No. 5. It is said that another crossing to the west side will be made before the road enters West Virginia. The war with Spain has prevented the extension of the line this summer, but it is certain to be built again.
