Full Text

Not Settled.
The location of the new penitentiary seems after all not to be definitely fixed, according to the following from the Jefferson City Tribune:

"The location of the new penitentiary seems to be involved in some doubt. The commissioners have held two meetings recently, but what transpired cannot be ascertained, as the board sits in executive session and the inspectors are extremely reticent of late. Auditor Walker left yesterday for Sedalia and from there goes to Howard county on private business. Attorney-General Boone also left for Clinton yesterday, and he, too, was called away on private affairs. As the matter stands there is a dense veil of mystery surrounding the location of the branch prison, notwithstanding that it has been located once."
