FATAL CASUALTY.—On Saturday last, a drunken
Indian, at Humphreysville, applied to a man named
Driver, for liquor, and on being refused, declared he
would have it, at the risk of life and death, and made
a furious attack for the purpose. He was resisted, until his opponent seized a musket, with which he shot
him dead. Mr. Driver, (we are not sure we have the
name correct, from the obscure chirography of our informant,) was arraigned before a magistrate, and acquitted on the ground of self defence.
