ST. LOUIS.

The National Democratic Convention Will be Held There.

(Special to the St. Louis Times-)

WASHINGTON, D. C., Feb. 22.-As indicated in these dispatches from the beginning of the contest, St. Louis carried off the honors of the national convention. The two main arguments that secured this result were the fact that Missouri has no candidate for either place on the ticket and the circumstance that St. Louis is the scene of the recent and greatest grief that has come to the Republican party. St. Louis really had the thing in her own hands from the first, and had not Louisville put in her claims the matter would have been decided on the first ballot.
