Full Text

A general revolution of government seems to be taking place in South America. What forms of government, or territorial divisions of sovereignties will be eventually settled, time only will ascertain. One great object of Bonaparte's invading Spain was the expectation of swaying Spanish America. In this he is completely disappointed, and without the least hope of its accomplishment.--The conquest of Spain is now of comparatively little importance to his empire: the shame of defeat in his purpose more than the prospect of advantage, causes the continuance of the Spanish war.--[Alex.
