LANSING, April 20 - (P) -
Official tabulation of the vote in the April 5 election-including the fantastically close race for Supreme Court Justice--went to the State Board of Canvassers today for certification.
Barring last minute change by the official tabulating staff, the figures will show Circuit Judge Neil E. Reid of Mount Clemens and Justice Emerson R. Boyles seated--the latter retaining his seat by a two vote margin over another incumbent, Justice Bert D. Chandler.
The tabulation submitted to the Board of Canvassers by its staff gave the 71-year-old Reid 187,987 votes to lead the field, followed by Boyles with 179,228; Chandler 179,226 and Probate Judge Frank L. McAvinchey of Genesee county 171,386. Election certificates will go to the two top men.
Boyles and Chandler have refused to discuss their flicker finish until the official canvass has been completed. It is scheduled for 2 p. m. central war time.
