(By Randolph Dunbar for ANP)-Miss Alberta Hunter. the "Apostle of Gaiety." who is now starring in the Cotton Club revue at the Palladium Variety house, is achieving an overwhelming preponderance of success. The manner in which she puts over her numbers at the Palladium each night sends a stir of interest through the most lethargic imagination of English people. Alberta has an extraordinary range of facial expression and uncannily "speaking" hands, which are the concord of her personality and appeal.
To charm and fascinate, rouse people and draw them into gaiety are all part of her life. Fascination is her art-yes! Without that she can't live : Alberta Hunter has had to fight for an existence in her earlier days, as a result she has learned to translate the patterns of life, the hopes the joys, sorrows. all its fine shades, into the nuances of sound and the cadences of Negro port mento.
