A LUCKY FELLOW

The editor of the Southern Planter complains that his subscribers do not pay him, and goes on to say "we did not get money enough last month and the month before, to pay the clerk hire and printing bill of the paper, and had to advance three hundred dollars out of our private funds."

We say he is a lucky fellow-not because he had to advance three hundred dollars out of his private funds-but we do say he was lucky for a paper-man, that he had private funds out of which he could advance three hundred dollars. It is not many of his cotemporaries that have such private funds.
