John Dancy Named on UCS Board

John C. Dancy, director of the Detroit Urban League, has been elected to the board of directors of United Community Services.

The Urban League is a Red Feather service of United Community Services and receives support from the Torch Drive.

United Community Services is the successor to the Community Chest of Metropolitan Detroit and the Council of Social Agencies of Metropolitan Detroit. The single organization was established to provide additional efficiency and economy in social work in Detroit.

UCS, which is a Red Feather service supported by the Torch Drive, will continue the activities of the Community Chest and the Council of Social Agencies with the exception of fund-raising which was allocated to the United Foundation by the Chest in 1949.
