Gentlemen: It having become the fashion to electioneer through the newspapers, I beg leave to recommend the claims of Wm. B. Randolph to the voters of Henrico county. He is a property holder in the county, and has a complete identity of interest with it, in all that regards its prosperity. He is a man of sense and information, and of independence of political sentiment and deportment. These are the essential qualifications for a useful representative.
He is no lawyer, and in that I think, possesses in the present crisis, a high recommendation. Recollect, that the next Legislature re-models the Judiciary. Recollect, that the interests of lawyers, are at war with the interests of the people—that the people want a cheap and expeditious administration of justice; the interests of lawyers, require as much form as possible, that it may breed delays, and grow fees. Have a care of the lawyers! They are good, intelligent and patriotic citizens, but they would be more than men, if they did not feel some bias towards the course which will put most fees into their pockets.

Main Argument
recommends wm. b. randolph as a representative for henrico county due to his property ownership, aligned interests, sense, information, and political independence; highlights that as a non-lawyer, he avoids bias in the upcoming judiciary remodel, where lawyers' interests conflict with the people's desire for cheap and expeditious justice.
