Full Text

Learn, Mortal, learn the motions of the Mind,
Why you were made, for what you were designed:
Study thyself, what Rank or what Degree,
The wise Creator has ordained for thee:
Learn what thou ow'st thy Country and the State,
What's requisite to Love, and what to hate.
Learn this, and after, envy not the Store
Of the greas'd Gown that grinds the Poor.
Fat Fees from the deluded People draws,
Nor once regards the Justice of the Cause
But cries, I've sworn to serve my Turn in store,
And he's a Rascal who Pretends to more.
