A few days ago a cruel assassination was committed near the town of Viterbo, at a farm whereon a husbandman, his wife, and their two daughters resided. One of whom was lately married to a rustic, who lived also in the house of his father-in-law: some days had passed without any person of that family having been seen: the door of their house remaining fastened; some of their neighbours thought proper to give information of this circumstance to the tribunal of the city of Viterbo. The magistrate repaired to the spot; the door was forced open, and in the first place the father and mother were found assassinated, both their throats being cut; in another room the youngest of the daughters was found in the same condition: on entering a third room the young couple were found to have shared the same fate. All the furniture had been carried out of the house.
Diligent search is making after the authors of these horrid murders.
