The United States Telegraph is correct. All the honor of sustaining, successfully, the President's Proclamation, falls upon Mr Webster. Here, in the west, Mr Webster's name is intimately connected with that of Jackson, in preserving the Constitution of the United States, and putting down the heresy of nullification. It gives us pleasure to find a man of Mr Webster's Herculean mind sustaining the principles and doctrines of Jefferson, Madison, and the other heads of the old democratic party.— So long as such men remain in the councils of the nation, the constitution is safe,—Penn.
