BROUGHT EXCELLENT PRICE
Mr. Ray
Purchased It For
$25,000
The sale yesterday of the fine suburban farm of Mr. J. W. Hightower, as reported, was of interest in local real estate circles, establishing as it does a new record level for farming property in Sumter county.
The farm of 300 acres is situated two miles east of Americus and is reached by graded roads, a fact which enhanced greatly its value, although it is considered one of the most fertile and desirable small farms in the county.
The purchaser is Mr. N. A. Ray, and the consideration reported was $25,000, an excellent one, indeed, for a 300-acre farm. The threatened coming of the boll weevil does not seem to depreciate land values here in Sumter, as there is always a demand for well located and well improved farms, and at excellent values, as evidenced by several sales effected recently.
