Chaplain Lozier, in a letter excusing himself for not speaking at a Union meeting at Indianapolis, on account of sickness, says:

"That gun fired at Chicago makes a loud report, but it kicks so that it will kill any party that fires it. You'll see great rolls of Goshen butter come sliding down the sun beams about the time the sound headed people of this country elect a professed war man on a peace platform.

"McClellan will take the Presidential Chair just like he took Richmond. 'Little Mac' and Big 'Mac' will suffer the fate of another craft which the rebels undertook to use in destroying our Government. That was the Merrimac."
