Full Text

BOSTON, June 9.

On the 31st of June last, by a very severe shock of Providence, near the house of Mr. John Claypoole junior, in Framingham, five persons were struck down by thunder and lightning, instantly thrown to the ground, and two of them, viz. Mr. Abraham Rice and Mr. John Claypoole above mentioned, were struck dead, without the least struggle. The other three, Mr. Peter Parker, Simon Pratt and [one other], we hope, likely to recover. And one, after some struggles returned to life, at the same time a horse they were viewing was struck dead also; which we think, should be published to this world of forgetters, as a memento for the improvement of life.
