CHICAGO, June 27.-Orders for approximately 15,500,000 pounds of meat for army consumption have been placed with Chicago packing concerns by the local quartermaster's department, it was announced today. The meat is to be shipped as soon as possible to Fort Sam Houston and El Paso, Texas.

Orders were received by Swift and Company, Armour and Company, Sulzberger and Sons, Morris and Company, the Cudahy Packing Company. Bids were submitted to the government today on 130,000,000 pounds for use in the navy.
