The List lately published at Peterbourg, of the Russian Fleet, makes it consist of forty Men of War and Frigates, exclusive of Galleys and lesser Vessels; but the Orders for equipping and sending a Squadron to Sea this Summer are countermanded, the Disposition made for augmenting the Troops is changed, and the Swedish Minister not only well received, but highly caressed at Court. Notwithstanding which, some Disturbances reign at Stockholm, where there are two Parties, one of which, being much the most powerful, is accused of spreading false and scandalous Reports, in Order to exasperate the Nation against the Russians, not only in Respect to the Fire which lately happened there, but also in Regard the injuries Delegates of the Russian Court, and chase the Mode-raso which the Russian Ministry affects, is put on with no other View than to lull the Swedes into Security, and prevent them from taking any vigorous Resolution the approaching Diet.
