Runge Takes Matter up With L. A. and Gets Results
Following complaints made a week ago by business men in El Centro, because of the late arrival of the morning train from Los Angeles, C. W. Runge, district freight and passenger agent for the Southern Pacific Company, took the matter up with the superintendent of the Los Angeles division, urging that everything possible be done to insure the arrival on time of the valley train. The headquarters office promised an investigation, and that it has had results is shown by the arrival of the train on time for several days past.
Mr. Runge states that the train is accompanied from Los Angeles by a trainmaster, whose job it is to see that there is as little delay in getting out of stations along the line. This morning the train pulled in on time and Mr. Runge advises that business men here and in other valley towns may be assured that it is the company's desire that all trains maintain their schedules and that extra effort is being put forth to have No. 46 make all stations on time.
