IS TO BE STARTED

EDMONTON, Alta, May 3.-(A.P.)- R.C.A.F. officials said today that Miles Vandergrift of Naknek, Alaska, missing in his light private plane since Thursday, had flown the craft into Grande Prairie, Alta., this morning.

They said he had been grounded 25 miles south of Grande Prairie by bad weather and until today had been unable to take off again.

EDMONTON. Alberta. May 3.-

(Royal Canadian Airforce para-rescue men at Whitehorse, Y. T. have been ordered to stand by for a possible mission to rescue a lone flier three days overdue. Northwest Air Command says.

Miles Vandergrift of Naknek, Alaska, left Edmonton Thursday, bound for Grande Prairie, Alta., first stop of a flight to Alaska.

He has not been reported since.

Officers said they believed poor weather had grounded him and that floods had prevented him reporting his whereabouts.

"We assume that he has been held up by the weather," one said.

"The same weather has prevented us from looking for him."
