It is with great pleasure we inform the public that the mangel wurzel, or the scarcity root, is now cultivated in the garden of Richard Peters, Esq. in the neighbourhood of this city, and that some of the seeds of this excellent root have been distributed among several gentlemen curious in gardening, in this and the neighbouring states. The value of this new article of agriculture is derived from its growing in all kinds of soil, and in all countries; from its being proper food for man and beast; and from its immense increase, being far beyond any other vegetable that has ever been known or cultivated.
