The Number of Cherokees that came to Town on the 8th Instant, was 188: They were received in Broad-street by one of his Majesty's Independent Companies, the Charlestown Regiment of Foot, and Troop of Horse, thro' whom they passed, and had immediately an Audience of his Excellency the Governour in Council. They afterwards had two other Conferences with his Excellency, in which they gave Assurances of inviolable Fidelity to their Brothers the English, and that they would take up the Hatchet against the French, and all other his Majesty's Enemies: And having received their Presents last Saturday, on Sunday they set out to return to their Country, very well satisfied.
