THE Editors of the Oracle still seem disposed to justify themselves in the low, vulgar and despicable practice of giving the LIE, even in instances, where (if they had the discernment of a "weaned" child) it would rebound back with double force.—

The instance we allude to, is the assertion in their paper of the 6th inst. "That the majority at the town meeting of the first inst. were guilty of indecent hissing."

To convince the public that this assertion is "FALSE," we will demonstrate as follows:—The meeting consisted of 694 voters, and the whole number that hissed, did not exceed twenty, and they were instantly checked by the Hon. Moderator. Now if twenty, (in the view of the Oracle editors) is the Majority of 694, we wish to relinquish any further controversy on this subject with such high learned gentlemen!
