The Mr. and Mrs. Republican Club met last Thursday and elected the following new officers at its reorganization meeting. President is Gene Henry of Bainbridge, a Chardon attorney. Robert DeGraff of Russell Twp., was named vice president. Mrs. David Riebel of Chardon is secretary and Richard Donley of Chardon is treasurer.
They also adopted a new name, The Geauga Republican Club. The former name tends to be misleading as membership is not limited to married couples but is open to anyone interested in joining. Meetings will be held the 3rd Thursday of every month at Hosmer's Restaurant in Burton.
The following committees were set up. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Donley head the ways and means committee. Mr. Charles Wilkens is the chairman of the candidates committee. Robert DeGraff is in charge of political education. Fair participation is to be organized by Mrs. William A. Burns and Mrs. Irene Born. Publicity will be directed by Mrs. Edwin T. Hofstetter.
Mr. Theron Dean, county chairman of the Republican party spoke on the organization of the club. Projects and activities were discussed including the participation at the Geauga County Fair and at the Republican State Convention in Columbus.
