Answering to the name of belts or gala girdles of decorative satin, velvet, taffeta and plush rayon jersey. As in the Aurora Borealis by vari-colored sequins, some have bustled bows or arms pins attached, others are waistline-nipping corsnettes. Gloves are undisguised shorties which reflect the glory of the girdle.
Two items launched by a talented French-American designer Madame Lucienne Harang, whose flair with fabric and needlework has been compared to the fine brush strokes of a miniature artist, are shown here.
Black satin makes the corsalette, right, accented in front with vari-colored sequins and laced in the back through hand-run eyelets, touched up by sparklers. A sequin-band simulates a bracelet on the matching black satin gloves.
Black satin also makes the sequin-sprinkled belt-swung alms purse, left, which is as useful as it is decorative for carrying all your well-known what-nots. Here again gloves match belt in fabric and trim.
