Full Text
The Second District.
The Loudon Journal of last week pronounces for Judge Houk as the Republican candidate for Congress in the Second District. While recognizing the absence of any right to put in our oar, we will venture an expression that the Republicans of the Second might go further and fare worse. Judge Houk is a man of respectable ability, and to be commended because he has made his way without any adventitious aids. If he should be a candidate, whoever runs against him will have a lively time.
