This morning, at 10 o'clock, a very significant meeting will mark the close of the celebration of national boy scout week when scores of colored scouts, members of the eight race troops of the Greater Atlanta area, will assemble at the Atlanta University Laboratory High School.
The program, which will be presided over by Dr. H. R. Butler Jr., chairman of the colored district scout committee, will feature the presentation of the beautiful "presidential awards", streamers given by the president to troops all over the country that have met the requirements of a strict set of rules during the 1933 calendar year.
Four of the eight colored troops in Atlanta are to be so honored while some 30 troops in all in the Atlanta Council will be given this high award. Troops receiving the presidential streamers include Troop 90, First Congregational church, Andrew S. Lewis III, scoutmaster; Troop 92, Atlanta University Laboratory high school, E. J. Hooper, scoutmaster; and Troop 95, Central M. E. church, Dr. Raymond Carter, scoutmaster; and Troop 93, Carrie Steele Logan home, T. L. Brickler, scoutmaster.
