RICHMOND, June 22. On the 14th ult. the following melancholy accident happened at this place. George Donald, a promising youth in his eleventh year, and an only child, bathing in the river with some other boys, was unfortunately drowned; and though taken up in a short time afterwards, and every possible method used to restore him, could not be brought to life. The Reverend Mr. Ogilvie preached his funeral sermon on the 20th, to a numerous audience, from these words (1 Samuel, iii. 18.) It is the Lord, let him do what seemeth to him good; a discourse very well adapted to the melancholy occasion, and much approved of by the hearers.
