Change of fortune.—The Court Register at Vienna thus acknowledges certain fallen persons of the Bourbon dynasty. Of the grand cross order of Maria Theresa, His Highness Louis, Antoine de Bourbon, Comte du Maine. Madame La Duchesse de Berry figures as the Countess of Rosny, widow of the Duc de Berry, among the ladies of the Order of the Star. In reverse of this, we see among the late presentation at the Court of the Autocrat, the Countess of Rossi, (late the vocalist, M'lle Sontag,) wife of the Ambassador of Sardinia; at the Court. In the one case, the scion of a royal house that was occupied for 1100 years, and still partially does so nearly all the thrones of Europe, obtains with difficulty and obscure asylum in the very capital of the Holy Alliance of legitimacy. In the other, a self-made girl from the poorest ranks of Germany, figures as one of the principal personages at the most exclusive and powerful courts of Europe.—N. Y. Star.
