Lindley Camp, Solicitor, Dies In Crash
COLUMBUS, Ga. (SNS) - Nine persons, including Lindley W. Camp, Solicitor of Fulton Criminal Court, Atlanta, died Tuesday when two planes collided 30 feet above the runways of Muscogee County airport. Camp was considered the No. 2 Talmadge man of the state.

Eight Delta Air Lines officials died in the crash.

The plane bearing the Delta officials was coming in for a landing when suddenly from above, a smaller private plane, reconverted from an Army trainer, crashed into the tail of the Air Lines plane, according to witnesses. The larger plane buckled in two and both planes plunged to the ground and exploded in flames. All occupants of both planes died in the flames.

More than two thousand were attracted to the airport as orange flames leaped 30 feet into the air and carried a towering column of smoke. Camp and the late Eugene Talmadge were men of the old school in their fighting spirit carrying through era of the two-term.
