Water and Sewage Plan
Be Reduced to $1,200,000
Monday evening the Nome Council turned over to the Nome Planning Commission a letter received from the Director of Housing and Home Finance Agency concerning the application made for the water and sewage project recently completed and sent to them by the City of Nome.
Due to the time element in getting the project started this season, the Planning Commission immediately conferred by phone with this agency, who suggested that the scope of the project be reduced to $1,200,000 instead of $1,500,000 estimated.
They suggested that the basic water and sewer system be in areas of high density with provision for future extensions based on ability to finance and the users ability to provide internal fixtures to use the services. The agency expressed their desire to see Nome obtain these needed improvements.
