Brazeal To Report At 2 Dean-Registrar Meeting

Dean B. R. Brazeal of Morehouse College, who is completing his period as president of the National Association of Collegiate Deans and Registrars in Negro Schools for the past year, will present his report on the Association's activities for 1947-48 at the annual meeting of this group, March 24-26, in Tuskegee Institute, Ala. The theme for the meeting is "Extending Democracy in Institutions of Higher Education for Negroes."

Dean Brazeal will be the speaker at the opening session on Mar. 25. He is distinguished in the field of labor economics and author of the book "The Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters." A former treasurer of the Association of Personnel Deans and Advisers of Men in Negro Educational Institutions, Dr. Brazeal was recently elected to the Board of Trustees of Highlander Folk School, Monteagle, Tenn. He is active in student interracial work and has served as a speaker and commission leader in a number of interracial meetings.

Other speakers will be I. A. Derbigny of Tuskegee Institute; Dr. George N. Redd of Fisk University; Dean W. W. E. Blanchet of Fort Valley College; Dr. James Holladay, regional representative of the American Association of University Professors; Dr. T. R. Solomon of Prairie View State College; Dr. Harry V. Richardson, director of Program for Training of Negro Rural Ministers, Home Missions and Council and Phelps Stokes Fund; Dean J. Newton Hill of Lincoln University (Pa.); and Dean J. T. Cater of Talladega College.

A panel discussion on the topic: "Handicaps to Intellectual and Cultural Growth in Colleges" will present Dean R A. Carter. Alabama A and M College; President H. C. Trenholm of State Teachers College, Montgomery, Alabama; Dean B. W. Hall, Jr., Leland College; Dr. Mozell Hill, Atlanta University; and Rev. Robert G. Brown a student at Tuskegee Institute.
