The steamship America has arrived at Halifax, with Liverpool dates to the 6th instant.

The news, in a commercial point of view, is highly important, and cannot fail to impart a firm, and even speculative feeling to the produce and stock markets on this side of the Atlantic. Cotton has advanced from 1/4 to 1/2d, on the middling qualities of American. Flour and Indian Corn have each advanced 1s. The London Money Market is in a much easier condition, with an increasing stock of bullion in the Bank of England.

The Continental intelligence is not of an important character. The surface of affairs in France is apparently of a tranquil nature, but serious and even revolutionary disturbances are anticipated.
