Evans Held After Fire

The former May residence on Mill Bay road which burned last Saturday morning was owned by Jack Allman. It was reported to have been insured for $700.

William Evans, occupant of the house, is being held for a 10-day observation period and will have a sanity hearing next week before Probate Judge C. C. Naughton. The complaint, signed by Jack Allman, followed actions ascribed to Evans after the fire and statements allegedly made by him concerning 'secret agents' and the alleged confession that he had been "forced to start the fire" that destroyed the building.
